Before you pay an advance, visit the venue with the people who will help on the wedding day. Walk through it in the same order as your guests. A good view is lovely, but the entrance, seats and meal area matter too.
Start where guests arrive
Ask where a bus or car can stop. Check whether guests need to cross a busy road or walk up steps. If your family will receive a janti, agree where the welcome happens. Leave space for people to gather without closing the entrance.
Give one family member the job of answering calls from guests who cannot find the place. Share a map pin and the correct entrance, not just the hotel's name.
Make room for your ceremony
Stand in the place where the ceremony will happen. Picture the people taking part, the items they need and the relatives watching. If you are using a mandap, ask for a drawing that includes its full size and the space around it.
Check the route to the toilets and dining area. Ask an older family member whether the walk feels comfortable. Do not judge access from a photograph alone.
Follow the food route
Ask where the buffet begins and where the queue ends. A table that looks fine in an empty hall may block a doorway once guests line up. Find out whether the meal is served in the same room as the ceremony or somewhere else.
Ask the venue to show the layout for your guest count. Its largest advertised number may refer to a different seating plan.
See the covered option
Waterfront's official website lists indoor and outdoor wedding spaces. Pokhara Grande also lists several event halls. These are useful starting points, but you still need to ask which exact space your booking includes.
If the outdoor plan changes, where will the ceremony and food go? Is that room held for you? Get the answer in writing.
Before paying the advance
- Write down the date, event hours and guest count.
- Name every room or outdoor area included.
- Agree on supplier entry and removal times.
- List extra charges and payment dates.
- Keep a copy of the agreed plan.
A venue visit is most useful when it leaves your family with clear answers. Take a few notes and ask again about anything that is still unclear.
