Privacy Policy & Data Protection

This policy applies to Roy Events Pvt. Ltd. (“Roy Events”, “we”, “us”) — a company registered in Nepal operating from Street 19, Nayabazar-9, Pokhara, Nepal (Services available across Nepal). We plan weddings and corporate events and design stages, mandaps, entrance gates, and floral decor through our sister workshop, Roy Flower Decoration, in Nayabazar-9, Pokhara.

We act as the data controller for inquiries, quotations, bookings, and portfolio media collected through royevent.com, phone/WhatsApp, venue visits, and our studio. Contact our privacy desk at [email protected] or +977 9856026660.

We collect only what a wedding planner and decorator genuinely needs:

• Contact & identity: name, phone, email, city, and who we should coordinate with (family, planner, venue manager).
• Event details: event type (wedding, haldi, mehndi, corporate), tentative AD/BS date, venue preference, guest count, budget range.
• Planning artifacts: quotations, proposals, invoices, change orders, shortlisted decor (wishlist), currency/calendar/display preferences.
• Celebration media: photos and video from your event — only used publicly with your permission (see §8).
• Technical data: device, pages viewed, and on-site preferences stored in first-party cookies (§6); aggregated analytics (§7).

We do not ask for citizenship numbers, bank passwords, OTPs, or other sensitive credentials. Please never share those with our team.

• You give it directly — contact and builder forms, WhatsApp/phone calls, studio or venue meetings, and email threads.
• You save it on-site — wishlist, currency (NPR/USD/INR), calendar (AD/BS), and city filters stored in your browser cookies.
• We create it while planning — quotations, floor plans, logistics notes, and (with consent) event photography.
• Automatic measurement — privacy-respecting analytics described in §7.

• Prepare customized decor proposals, 3D concepts, quotations, and change orders.
• Coordinate venues, vendors (sound, lights, catering partners), transport, and day-of management.
• Schedule tastings, mock-ups, and appointments; send confirmations and payment reminders.
• Improve packages, pricing clarity, and website experience from aggregated feedback.
• Showcase real weddings only with your permission — names and faces masked on request.

We do not sell or rent client data to third-party marketers. Ever.

Nepal's Constitution (Article 28) guarantees privacy as a fundamental right. The Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) and Privacy Regulation, 2077 require us to collect data with your consent, tell you the purpose upfront, use it only for that purpose, and protect it. The Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 governs electronic records and unauthorized access, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 requires honest service and communication.

We use only first-party, functional cookies to remember display choices — no advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers set by us. They are SameSite=Lax and last up to 365 days. Clearing browser cookies simply resets these preferences.

Manage them in your browser (Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Cookies; Safari/Firefox similar). Admin-view cookies (roy_admin_*) apply only to staff.

To understand which venues, packages, and guides help families most, we use aggregated measurement in production only:

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — page views and Enhanced Measurement (no second manual page_view from our app).
• Google Tag Manager — loads approved tags; no ad pixels set by us.
• Microsoft Clarity — anonymized interaction diagnostics to fix confusing layouts.

Opt out anytime with Google's opt-out add-on, “Do Not Track”, ad-blockers, or by contacting us — we will prioritize your request manually. Analytics never replaces your explicit consent for portfolio or testimonial use.

Decor photography is central to a decorator's craft — but your celebration stays private by default. We publish identifiable photos, names, or venues only after you say yes (in writing, WhatsApp, or email). You can choose: full showcase, decor-only close-ups, masked names, blurred faces, or complete privacy.

• With your vendors & venue — dates, layouts, and contact points needed to deliver your event, and only what is needed.
• With processors — hosting/database, email delivery (e.g. quotation emails), and analytics providers bound to use data only for our instructions.
• For legal reasons — courts, police, or regulators when required by prevailing Nepal law, or to protect safety and prevent fraud.

No sale of personal data. No disclosure of health, financial, biometric, or family details without your consent except as the Privacy Act permits for lawful investigation.

We keep data only as long as planning, warranty, or law needs it:

• Open inquiries: until your event decision plus one wedding season for follow-up, unless you ask for earlier deletion.
• Bookings & finance: contracts, invoices, and receipts retained per tax/company record duties.
• Portfolio media: only while your showcase consent stands; removed on withdrawal.
• Technical logs: aggregated or short-lived; browser cookies expire as listed in §6.

Under the Privacy Act 2075 you may:

• Ask what data we hold about you and why (access / be informed).
• Correct inaccurate details (event date, phone, spelling of names).
• Withdraw consent and request deletion of inquiry data or portfolio showcases.
• Object to a specific vendor share before we send it.
• Complain to the District Court / police office under the Act's remedy process if you believe privacy was violated.

Exercise any right by emailing [email protected] with your name, event date, and request. We reply in plain language and verify identity before sharing personal data.

Security: role-based staff access, encrypted transport (HTTPS), Supabase access controls, and need-to-know vendor sharing. No system is perfect — if you suspect misuse, tell us immediately so we can contain it.

Children: wedding inquiries are for adults. If you share family or minor details (e.g. kids' program timing), share only what is needed, with guardian consent.

Changes: material updates get a new “Last updated” date above and, for open bookings, a direct notice. Continued use after the date means you accept the update.
