If your wedding includes a janti, plan its arrival with the family receiving it. The entrance needs to work for the procession, vehicles and guests who arrive separately. A decorated gate is only one part of that plan.
Agree on one arrival point
Ask the venue where vehicles should stop. Check that the driver and family contacts have the same map pin and entrance name.
If buses and small cars use different points, explain this in the travel message. Do not leave drivers to choose a place in front of a crowded gate.
Make room for the welcome
Talk with the receiving family about what they want to do at the entrance. Ask which people and items need space. Leave a route for guests who are not part of the welcome.
Show the plan to the décor team. The flower arch, chairs and signs should leave the agreed route open.
Coordinate the music
If musicians are coming with the janti, give them the arrival contact and route. Ask the venue about music timing and any permission needed for the actual plan.
Do not assume the road or venue can be used freely for a procession. Check any local arrangements with the people responsible before the day.
Give guests a place to wait
Ask where people go while the welcome is happening. Check seats for elders and a suitable waiting place if it is sunny or wet.
If water or refreshments are part of the welcome, decide who arranges them and where they are served. Keep that area away from the vehicle stopping point.
Keep the two sides in touch
Choose one person travelling with the janti and one at the venue. They should update each other if departure or arrival changes.
Avoid asking several relatives to pass the same message through separate calls. One clear update helps the venue, family and musicians prepare together.
Walk from the gate to the ceremony
Check the route after the welcome. If guests move straight into the ceremony space, make sure it is ready before arrival. If they wait elsewhere, share that next step with the family helpers.
Janti arrangements differ between families. Plan the welcome your family wants, then help the venue and suppliers make enough space for it.
