A décor quotation should help you understand what the team will bring and do. If two quotes have different totals, first check whether they cover the same work. A short list of prices may hide important differences.
Name every area
List the home entrance, venue entrance, mandap, stage, table areas and signs that are part of your plan. The quote should say which ones are included.
If the event has two places or two days, ask for those parts separately. Do not assume one “wedding package” covers all of them.
Check materials and size
Ask which flower areas are fresh and which use reusable pieces. Confirm colours, rough sizes and quantities where they affect the agreed work.
A photograph can show the look, but it may not show the amount included. Ask which details in the reference picture are part of your order and which are not.
Read the work lines
Check preparation, delivery, setup and removal. Ask about extra travel, waiting time or work outside the usual hours for that booking.
If furniture, lights or a stage are supplied by the venue, keep them separate from the décor team's work. This avoids paying for or expecting the same item twice.
Ask about changes
Find out who approves a flower replacement or guest-count change. Ask how extra work is priced and whether a revised quote will be sent.
Keep the final approved version. A new idea shared in a family chat is not automatically part of the supplier's order.
Check payment and collection
Read the advance amount, balance date and cancellation terms. Ask whether hired pieces have any return or damage terms. Have invoice charges explained by the supplier instead of guessing from the total.
This guide does not give a market price or sample Roy quote. Your price depends on the actual work included, place, date and supplier agreement.
Before you agree
- Can you name every decorated area?
- Are the main materials and sizes clear?
- Is transport and removal included?
- Are changes and payment terms written down?
A clear quote gives the family something it can check. Ask about any line you do not understand; simple questions are a normal part of booking the work.
