The home entrance may welcome relatives, suppliers and the janti on the same morning. It should look cared for and still work as a doorway. Before ordering an arch or flower strings, check how the family will use it.
Keep the doorway clear
Open the door fully and measure the space around it. Show the team any steps, narrow turns or low beams. Include the route people use to carry bags and food into the house.
Do not fill that route with flower pots or stands. Ask the team to keep any fixing or cables away from the walking area.
Pick one main decoration
A simple flower edge, a small arch or hanging strings may be enough for the entrance. The right choice depends on the building and available space.
Use a photograph of the real doorway when discussing the design. A large gate from a resort picture may not fit a home lane or small landing.
Think about the welcome
Ask where the receiving family wants to stand. If a welcome ritual is planned, check the space and items needed with them.
Leave a place for guests to pause without blocking the next arrivals. If shoes are removed at the entrance, plan where they go. Do not assume the family's usual household arrangement will fit a large group.
Agree on flowers and timing
Name the flower colours and areas in the order. Ask which parts are fresh and which are reusable. If flowers must arrive on the morning itself, agree the delivery contact and setup time.
Try to finish the main work before guests use the entrance. The family should know who to call if the agreed work is late or needs a change.
Make directions easy
Share a map pin, nearby landmark and one contact number. If a name board is needed, ask someone in the family to check the names and spelling before printing.
Avoid putting private phone numbers on a board that will remain visible after the event unless the family agrees.
Include pack-up
Ask which items the team will collect and when. Keep the route clear while work is removed. The home entrance should return to normal use without leaving the household to guess what belongs to whom.
Simple décor works best when it fits the real doorway and the people using it. The welcome matters as much as the photograph.
