Two décor quotes may both say “mandap and stage” while offering very different work. Before choosing the lower total, put both quotes beside the same list of needs. Ask each team to explain any line that is unclear.
Use one brief for both teams
Share the same date, venue, guest count and reference pictures. Tell both teams which areas need decoration and whether the event covers one place or several.
If the family changes the brief, send the same update to both. A comparison only helps when the starting request is the same.
Compare the main items
For each area, check the size and materials. Ask about fresh flower coverage, reusable pieces, fabric, furniture and lights where they are part of the plan.
Do not assume two pictures that look similar mean the supplied items are identical. Ask which parts of the reference are included in each quote.
Read what happens before and after
Check delivery, setup, removal and travel. One quote may include them in the total, while another adds them later.
Ask about work across two event times. If the same décor is moved to a reception, compare the labour and transport needed for that move.
Make a short comparison sheet
Use one row for each item and one column for each team. Write “not stated” where an answer is missing. Send those questions back before deciding.
Keep the final reply in writing. A phone answer is helpful, but it should match the order you later approve.
Compare payment and change terms
Check the advance, balance date and cancellation terms. Ask how changes in flower supply or the guest plan are approved and priced.
If one option leaves out an area, decide whether your family needs it. Do not add it mentally to the quote and expect the team to supply it later.
Choose on the full picture
Look at the agreed work, clear answers and realistic setup plan alongside the price. Ask for a revised total if the work included changes.
There is no example price in this guide because a real comparison needs current, matching quotes. The useful question is not just “which is cheaper?” It is “what will each team supply for this amount?”
